What do you want your money to do for you?

September 1, 2019

What do you want your money to do for you?

Do you want to travel? Pay off debt? Start saving?

Start enjoying your money without feeling guilty?

With a little help, I believe you can do all those things.

Think about it. We hire people to cut our hair. We hire mechanics to fix our cars, we hire tutors for our children, we hire a life coach when we feel we need motivation and direction in our lives. We hire all these people because they are the subject matter experts in their field, and because we can never do it as good as them. We do not have the skillset or training and experience.

Yet, when it comes to our personal finances, although we may not have the training and education to manage this very crucial aspect of our life, most of us “just wing it”.

Why do we do that? Some of my clients say that they “just wing it” because they feel ashamed. They feel ashamed because they are “supposed” to know how to manage their money and they don’t. They say this while at the same time, acknowledging that no one has taught them how to manage their money.

Will you be expected to cut your own hair properly if you were not taught how to do it? No, you wouldn’t, yet that’s what thousands of people do every day with their finances.

So, I come back to the question that I started this article with:

What do you want your money to do for you?

  • Do you want to travel?

  • Do you want to pay off debt?

  • Do you want to sleep better at nights?

  • Do you want to feel hopeful for your future and your kid’s future?

  • Do you want to stop fighting with your spouse about money?

If your answer is yes to any of those questions, then seek help from a professional who is qualified and trained to help you understand and take control of your personal finances.
